Do you accept Long Term Care Insurance clients?
Yes we do accept Long Term Insurance. We
handle all the paperwork involved, we have the caregiver fill out an activity of daily living paperwork (ADL sheet) that is generated at our office for each individual client. We also take care of faxing or mailing the ADL sheet with the invoice to the particular insurance company. We take this out of the client’s hands so they do not need to worry about this.
What type of screening is done before you hire a caregiver?
All caregivers are interviewed by owners. We do a extensive background check and call previous employers. We always tell our potential hires that the most important thing to have in this field is patience, respect and communication.
Do I give the caregiver money to go buy my groceries or pick up my medications etc?
We prefer that our clients send us a certain amount of petty cash each month. We actually log this out to the caregiver. The caregiver is responsible to give us receipts and any cash left over for the month before we issue the caregiver any more money. We give clients a quarterly register and all original receipts back. This shows accounting of all money spent.
What is a plan of Care?
A plan of care is usually assessed during the initial interview with the client and our staff. We try to find out what services are needed for the client by our agency. We then write the Plan of Care to be followed by all caregivers. We upgrade the plan of care as needed. We always send a staff member to train a caregiver on her first time at a new case. This ensures that the client's requests are met.
How long has this company been in business and what makes you different from other companies?
We have been in business since 1996, we are both nurses and we feel we are a company that cares about both our clients and our caregivers. Both our parents have medical issues and we have been in the position of having to hire caregivers to take care of them. We understand the importance of giving dependable, quality care. We closely supervise our caregivers, and have wonderful letters of reference from our clients. We know we are a small company, but we have a lot to offer. We have supported many community events for an example of a few are: Oceanside Senior Center Fashion Show, Meet the Pharmacist, End of LIfe Coalition and the Alzheimers Advocacy Day up in Sacramento, CA. Angels Depot is a food bank that we volunteer for on a monthly basis to feed poverty level seniors. We feel it is very important to give back to our community to help our Seniors.
